Re: I had a power failure and I am now informed that there is a problem with the cache and that I have to go to preferences, purge the cache. I've done this, but get same error message every time I open Bridge subsequent times.

I am having the same issue as above, using Windows 8.

 

I have purged the cache under edit tab and preference option.

 

I see you mention to reset bridge. Ctrl + Bridge icon? Could you explain a bit more on this. Icon when bridge is open? Bridge icon on desktop?
